YMCA Youth and Government Program visits Sacramento, California. Over 2500 top youth delegates representing California met with Elected officials and staff to learn how Government works. Keenan & Associates, Insight Schools and KCOMM co-hosted the day with YMCA.

The Alberta Council for Global Cooperation profiles some incredible young people, honouring their dedication, hard work and commitment to international development. Edgar, an education student at Grant MacEwan University, has been involved in several student global education initiatives building a strong relationship of volunteerism with the Change for Children Association through participating in Project HOPE, supporting the construction of a primary school in Nicaragua, two Video Conferences for HOPE, and as a Youth Mentor for the Rural Rights: Youth Action & Media Project Edgar has expressed his desire to raise awareness of realities of poverty and injustice in Latin America through education, and this is why he seeks an education degree, as well, as an enthusiasm to participating in alternative education opportunities for youth.
